چکیده

Modulation of immunity is the most sought therapeutic effect as many human ailments arise because imbalance in immune mechanisms. In current corona virus disease scenarios also, role to combat dreadful has been well emphasized. Hence present study aims at evaluating immunomodulatory potential aqueous extract obtained from different parts such bark, fruit and wood Terminalia catappa. Based on results acute oral toxicity dose fixation studies, medium (250 mg/kg body weight) selected plant extracts were administered for 14 d swiss albino mice evaluate nonspecific (Neutrophil adhesion, Phagocytic index) specific (Hemagglutination antibody titer, Delayed type hypersensitivity) properties. The treated groups compared with cyclophosphamide (immunosuppressant) levamisole (immunostimulant) mice. From data it could be concluded that catappa have stimulatory anti-inflammatory properties, thereby proving their efficacy true immunomodulators. Among selected, fruits exhibited significant followed by bark wood.

Extraction Kinetics and Physicochemical Studies of Terminalia catappa L Kernel Oil Utilization Potential

Kinetics and selected variables (temperature, particle size and time) for extraction of Terminalia Catappa L Kernel Oil (TCKO) were investigated using solvent extraction. Kinetic models studied were: parabolic diffusion, power law, hyperbolic, Elovich and pseudo-second-order. In ascending order, the best-fitted models at the optimum temperature and oil yield were Elovich’s model, hyperbolic...
